Mumbai, India
Scope of Work
Lighting Design and Execution
The inaugural World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (“WAVES”) took place from May 1–4, 2025, at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre and Jio World Convention Centre. Hosted by the Government of India, the summit convened leading figures from media, technology, film and entertainment sectors, spotlighting India as a global creative nexus.
The opening ceremony featured a 50-piece orchestra led by MM Keeravaani, followed by curated performances from A.R. Rahman, Shreya Ghoshal, Alan Walker and others in the NMACC Grand Theatre.
Ground Control was commissioned to design and deliver all lighting within the NMACC Grand Theatre for the summit’s flagship evening programming. Our scope included architectural and performance-stage lighting design.
Collaborating with production and theatre teams, we programmed cues for a host of large ensembles and live performances.
Our lighting design balanced dramatic visual storytelling with technical precision.
Our lighting narrative set the stage for the summit’s ambition, strengthening its position as a meticulously executed, global event experience.
